Community Family Care’s Chief Executive, Becky Pearson, recently attended the MTFC & KEEP Conference 2013 in New York.
Becky said: "The conference was excellent and the different models which support the same outcomes were discussed. As a consequence, Community Family Care will be developing a programme of KEEP training for agency or local authority carers who have children who are planned to return to their birth families, along with Triple P Parenting Courses for the birth families. This will enable a more positive reunification with less chance of breakdown. This model is working exceptionally well in New Zealand who developed the Triple P Parenting Programme."
Sasha Brown, Community Family Care’s Co-ordinator is already accredited to teach the Triple P Programme and will be receiving a week's training course on KEEP in September, along with Rae Edwards, our Family Support Worker, so they will be able to deliver both programmes. The KEEP training will be delivered by the OSLC team from Eugene, Oregon, USA.
